summer the Lincoln Association
of Health Underwriters holds an
Annual Meeting and Awards
Luncheon to recognize the
Underwriter of the Year and
Service to Mankind award
winners. The Underwriter of the
Year is awarded to one of our
Members for the outstanding
achievements that they have made
to further the health insurance
industry in our area. The
Service to Mankind Award is
given to an organization that
has shown support to our
industry. Below you will find
the criteria for these awards
along with the past recipients.
UNDERWRITER OF THE
YEAR
Criteria:
This award is given for
distinguished service to the
Association and the industry.
Candidates should be chosen on
the following criteria:
• Contribution of time and
talent to further the health
insurance industry.
• They should hold a current
Nebraska Health Insurance
License.
• They exhibit the type of
character representing the
finest type of individual.
• They exhibit a positive
attitude and promote the LAHU
accordingly.
• They must have been an active
member for the 12 months
preceding their nomination.
• They may be notable for
displaying an outstanding
achievement in personal sales,
agency management, Home Office
relations, membership and/or
education based on their
individual ability.

SERVICE TO MANKIND:
This award is designed to
recognize those people or
individuals that have shown
support to our industry.
Companies or individuals can
qualify for this award. Those to
be considered include, but are
not limited to, insurance home
offices, paramedic services,
non-profit support groups,
hospitals, state government
officials or departments, and
other health regulative agencies
and individuals or
professionals. The winner is
determined based on the
following categories:
• A person/company who has made
a significant contribution to
the health care delivery system
or improvements in the health
insurance industry.
• Someone who has had his/her
company implement a program or
practice to contain costs.
• A professional who has made
significant community service
contributions.
• Someone whose career has been
devoted to helping promote
quality health care and/or
medical care reimbursement
programs.
• Any person/company that is
non-political and has exhibited
extraordinary services to the
community and/or health
underwriters association.
